John Arthur Hill

1955 - 2003

John Arthur Hill was the third child of five children raised by JoAnn and Russell Hill. He is survived by dearest friend and companion, Ellen Mantell; parents, JoAnn and Russell; sisters, Katya and Cheryl (Gordon); brothers, James and Robin. His life is being celebrated by many family and friends.

At some time in later childhood, John developed a seizure disorder following a head injury received during a hockey game in high school. His first seizure occurred when he was sixteen. Undaunted by repeated seizures, John’s positive attitude toward life was not diminished. He was always the optimistic and cheerful one. He never complained about his medical condition -- to him it was more of an inconvenience than a disability.

In later life John retained the inquistive nature of his childhood years. For John, life was an adventure - a joyous affair with his environment. He remained undaunted and unhindered by his seizure disorder. As a scientist, he sought the reasons and causes of life, and the meaning of the world around him. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his courage and his love of life.
