Clinical AAC Research Conference

Information for Sponsors

Make sure that your company stands out at the only clinical research conference specifically to expand evidentiary research for the clinical management of people who use augmentative and alternative communication.

Committed to excellence
in augmentative and alternative communication

What is CAAC?
CAAC is an annual forum created specifically for clinicians and researchers engaged in the study and clinical management of people who use augmentative and alternative communication. CAAC offers keynote presentations by leading researchers providing unique insights into clinical research. At CAAC, participants are required to present their original research and engage in comprehensive discussions with colleagues. To encourage a program conducive to the exchange of ideas, attendance will be limited to authors of accepted papers and posters, and graduate students being mentored.

Who is organizing CAAC?
CAAC is being organized by researchers with an international background and years of clinical and research experience dedicated to creating a forum that will result in an improved quality of life for people who cannot speak. The 2007 Conference Chair is Dr. Gilson Capilouto, and the Conference Program Chair is Dr. Filip Loncke. The CAAC Steering committee directs the conference. Steering committee members include: Lyle L. Lloyd, Chair, Ann R. Beck, Katya Hill, and Rajinder K. Koul.

Why sponsor CAAC?
One of the main goals of CAAC is to expand the evidentiary base of research designed to support the clinical management of individuals with significant communications disorders who rely on AAC. By participating in the conference, your company can be a part of this important mission. Sponsorship will position your company as a leading publisher seeking and promoting clinical AAC research and material that addresses evidence-based practice. Become one of the publishers associated with this mission and contribute to the field.
A stringent peer-review process will be in place to identify papers and posters for acceptance. Sponsors can be confident that accepted papers have met the rigors of a peer-review.

Who Attends CAAC?
The Conference plans to attract international researchers conducting a variety of clinical studies related to AAC. Attendees will be individuals teaching AAC and related courses at universities, conducting research, developing technology innovations, reviewing research proposals and papers, mentoring students entering the academic arena, and participating in a variety of international policy setting organizations. Accepted authors are making decisions about AAC-related publications. Participation is limited to 100 individuals who are influencing the future of the field of AAC. However, sponsorship will be noted by thousands who receive the AAC Institute Update and visit the web site.

Who can sponsor CAAC?
For-profit and not-for-profit companies and organization that have an interest in expanding quality clinical research for publication and presentations can request sponsorships. CAAC is an opportunity for sponsors to become involved with and aware of the current trends in clinical AAC research studies and authors before publication. In order to avoid the perception of promoting any AAC assistive technology, industry manufacturers and distributors do not qualify for sponsorships.
