Description:
The 11th Annual Assistive Technology Summer Institute – Assistive Technology: Basics and Beyond emphasized the integration of assistive technology into key aspects of daily life. This state wide assistive technology conference offered the latest information on assistive technology products and applications for education, employment and independent living. Noted author and lecturer Dave Edyburn, PhD, was the Keynote Speaker. Brooke Brown, Arizona State University honors graduate, accomplished writer, AAC device and power chair user delivered the closing presentation. Featured speakers with nationally recognized AT expertise included Gayl Bowser, Dan Herlihy, Caroline Musselwhite, Penny Reed and Joy Zabala.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Understand the critical role assistive technology plays in enhancing current student/client performance and long-term positive outcomes including achievement of educational goals and successful transition to post secondary environments for students and other individuals with disabilities.

2. Improve attitudes, knowledge, and skills for integrating assistive technology into their work with persons with disabilities.
