Assistive technology (AT) helps people do many things such as: remembering to take medication, hearing on the phone, reading, communicating, accessing the computer, and controlling their environment. This Expo offers presentations and exhibits on all types of AT devices and services for people of any age and ability to help them live, learn, work, and play. This event is for anyone interested in AT for themselves, a friend, family member, student, or client. The two day event includes an all day workshop, a morning of educational sessions, and an afternoon of exhibits.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. Identify assistive technology that can assist at work, home and other activities;
2. Generate list of resources for assistive technology agencies, educational opportunities, and service providers;
3. Discuss issues related to low vision, home remodeling, and assistive technologies usage.
