Description:
This session will explore the use of Core vocabulary to create customized, functional and interactive communication systems. The research basis for designing communication systems for individuals with complex communication needs will be demonstrated. A wide variety of designs will be showcased representing the individual nature of each system.Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
1) Increase their knowledge of research-based vocabulary selection methods.2) Raise their awareness of strategies for customization of low tech communication systems.
3) Increase their understanding of strategies for integrating the use of the communication systems.
