Description:
This webinar is an introduction to the world of assistive technology for newcomers to the field, starting with an introduction to the field and the environment in which it is operating in today’s world. We will look at the philosophy and strategies used to help children and adults with disabilities get connected to the tools they need. We then look at the different areas of assistive technology, the tools and how they might be used in different situations and environments.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
1) describe the breadth and depth of assistive technologies.

2) demonstrate general understanding of the various environments in which assistive technology services are delivered.

3) demonstrate a foundation of understanding about the assistive technology field as a platform for further learning.
