The West Tenn. A.T. Conference is an annual forum created specifically for teachers, special education teachers, psychologist, parents and students who are engaged in working with students who are identified as “Print disabled”. The conference will offer keynote presentations by leading professionals in providing unique insights into what defines a student as “print disabled’, and the technologies available to assist the student with their educational goals. At the West TN A.T. Conference, presenters are required to present their original research and engage in comprehensive discussions with colleagues. To encourage a program conducive to the exchange of ideas, attendance is limited to approximately 100 people. 

Learning Outcomes:
Day 1 Learning Objectives:                            

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to: : 

1. Identify and describe the four definitions of Print Disability along with the specialized formats included in IDEA.

2.Identify what sources are available to the State and Local Educational Agencies such as NIMAS, Bookshare, and AIM to ensure that all students with disabilities receive the support and services needed to access, participate, and achieve within the general curriculum.

3.Identify the different technologies available to the print disabled students and how to set up and access them within their own LEA.

4.Identify what aural reading is and how it can be used to increase a student’s ability to comprehend written information when it has been presented in specialized format.
