"Stay at Home with Assistive Technology for Dementia"

Wednesday November, 17th : 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

Description:
This session will allow participants to learn about the range of assistive technology devices for persons with memory, task completion and safety/security difficulties. Particular equipment demonstrated will include equipment such as medication dispensers, No-Start Car Battery Switch, alarm clocks with recorded voice, and door alarms.  Information will also be presented on IPAT Services.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will :

1) have an understanding of the range of assistive technology devices for persons with memory, task completion and safety/security difficulties.

2) have an understanding of the Interagency Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) and its services.

3) understand how they can use IPAT to help the people they serve get the assistive technology they need to stay at home.
