Description: AAC Language Training is a workshop dedicated to improving understanding of key issues that relate to the provision of professional AAC service delivery by speech-language pathologists and other related individuals. The overall goal is highest performance communication. Topics include core vocabulary, the use of sequenced pictures to represent core vocabulary, evidence-based interventions and monitoring changes in performance, referential vocabulary is school settings.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

1. Discuss the concept of core vocabulary.

2. Identify issues that relate to the use of sequenced pictures to represent core vocabulary.

3. Provide services in accordance with the principles of evidence-based practice.

4. Represent to others the advantages of language based AAC therapy.
