2011 Adirondack Assistive Technology Expo

This two-day conference consists of a keynote speaker, 25 breakout sessions, and one roundtable discussion focusing on Assistive Technology for individuals with disabilities throughout the lifespan and in all settings.  Topics include funding for AT, AT in education, AT in homecare, AT assessment, communication and socialization, accessible instructional materials, AT for sensory impairments, and adaptive recreation. Targeted audience includes individuals with disabilities, family members and caregivers, educators, related service providers, administrators, service coordinators and supporting agencies.

 

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:


1.
I can identify assistive technology tools that can be utilized to support individuals with visual impairments.

2. I can identify ways in which assistive tech can improve quality of life for individuals with terminal illness as well as their caregiver.

3. I am familiar with the rationale for developing AT teams and be able to access resources to aid in team development.

The 2011 Adirondack Assistive Technology Expo is approved for a total of up to 1.1 CEUs.
