What’s New in AAC: Overview of speech generating device programming, access methods and functional use

This 60 minute course is intended to be an interactive hands-on demonstration and discussion of the software and hardware features of the EZ Comm, IntelliGaze, and Alt Chat speech generating devices as well as the unique features and accessories to be onsidered for the best possible fit to an individual’s communication skills and needs.             

Learning objectives for participants:

1.) Participants will demonstrate basic use of the above 3 featured devices (i.e. power-up devices), load various vocabulary sets based on patient speech and language needs, set-up various access methods such as eye gaze camera, switch/scanning, and sensitivity settings for direct selection

2.) Participants will identify 3 unique characteristics of 3 devices (i.e. accessories, software features, access method(s) available)
