Learn the ins and outs of the new iPAD operating system 5.0 such as how to use all the accessibility features, new gestures, how to organize apps, how to find and make informed decisions on apps; Bluetooth switches, keyboards, speakers, mounts and iPAD protectors; three new ways to make and mount an iPAD; how to present and teach with an iPAD; how to document student performance; assessment tools for the iPAD; changing iPAD settings; returning iPAD apps that you don't want and much more.Speaker Biography:
Dr. Therese Willkomm is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and the Director of New Hampshire’s State Assistive Technology Program with the Institute on Disability at the University of New Hampshire. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Technology from the University of Pittsburgh and has over 25 years experience in providing/managing assistive technology services. She is known nationally and internationally as “The McGyver of Assistive Technology” and also the “App Guru.” Dr. Willkomm has presented in 38 states, five foreign counties, and three U.S. Territories and authored 22 publications including her most recent book titled “Make A Difference Today - Assistive Technology Solutions in Minutes.”Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:1. I can discuss, describe and identify 10 features of the IPAD that can benefit individuals who experience a variety of disabilities.
