The LATS Professional Development program certified one acquired the competencies necessary to provide appropriate Assistive Technology Services to students with disabilities. 100 hours of face-to-face training and distance learning emphasized: Systems Change, Teambuilding, Assessment Processes, Realistic Technology Integration, Research to Implemenetation, Using Technology Tools to enhance any teaching and learning space, The LATS Certificate Program is open to any educator certified in special education or a related field who is willing to serve as a LATS.

Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
1. participate and guide IEP/ 504 teams in the decision making process and appropriately consider students for their assistive technology needs, resolve computer access issues, and reduce potential for costly hearings and litigiation.

2. locate and use available local, state and national resources to assist with facilitation.

3. implement selected assistive technolgy devices and software within the curriculum.

4. apply learned skills to assess student needs and provide a range of assistive technology services in general and special education classrooms.

CEUs

The Local Assistive Technology Specialist LATS Certification Program is approved for a total of up to 2.5 CEUs.

To register for CEUs, download the Session Attendance Report Form, complete the form, and save the file using this file name model:
