Description
Participants learned to 1) facilitate IEP teams to consider student’s assistive technology needs; 2) locate and use appropriate resources; 3) implement selected devices and software in the K-12 curriculum; and 4) assess needs and provide a range of services.For additional information, visit: http://www.trecenter.org.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, the participant will be able to:
1) participate and guide IEP / 504 teams in the decision making process and appropriately consider students for their assistive technology needs, resolve computer access issues, and reduce potential for costly hearings and litigation.
2) locate and use available local, state and national resources to assist with facilitation.
3) implement selected assistive technology devices and software within the curriculum.
4) over time, apply learned skills to assess student needs and provide a range of assistive technology services in general and special education classrooms.
