Setup
All PRC text-based AAC systems from Touch Talker (1984) on have serial port representation of language events. These are the instructions for setting the devices so that language events are sent out the serial port as they are generated.
1. Turn on the serial port.
2. Select 9600 baud. (Other baud rates can be used as long as the receiving system is set to the same rate. The default baud rate for U-LAM is 9600.)
3. Auto Line Feed (OFF); Output Mode (IMMEDIATE); Character Pacing (OFF)
Upload to Computer
1. Connect the device serial port to the computer with a null modem (MTI) cable.
2. Start the LAMterm software (free download from this site).
3. Enter the Toolbox. Select Review Vocabulary. Select Data Logging. Select Send Data Log to Computer.
4. Watch the Number of Bytes Received count up. When the upload is done, a dialog box will initiate the SAVE process. Recommendation: Use the file name structure YYMMDD_n_ls_name.
