The Periodic Table of Questions

The Periodic Table of Questions is a 30” x 36” poster for classroom use. It provides guidance for the proper asking and answering of questions.

To Use This Table
1. When asked a question, look at the question word at the top of the table. Choose one of the options below it to help you answer the question.
2. When asking a question, use this table to help you determine the difficulty of the question you ask. For example, a “which and why” question is extremely difficult, but a “what and why” question is a less difficult way of asking about the same topic.
