Celia Hooper, Ph.D., CCC-SLP
Keynote Speaker
ASHA VP for Professional Practice

Keynote and session speakers prominent in the professions of AAC, speech-language pathology, and assistive technology will challenge assumptions and behaviors participants have about AAC evidence-based practice and performance measurement. Stakeholders have acknowledged that things must change, but have you identified the knowledge and skills needed to achieve more successful outcomes with individuals with complex communication needs (CCN)? Become familiar with the methods, tools, and processes to implement an EBP approach to AAC clinical practice and performance measurement. Interactive learning activities will be incorporated throughout the day. Participants will leave with EBP practice strategies they can implement immediately. The symposium welcomes professionals, individuals who rely on AAC and family members, researchers, manufacturers, developers, students and funding parties to share in the discussion.

AAC Institute is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. This program is offered for 0.7 CEUs (Intermediate level; Professional area). ASHA CE Provider approval does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.
