What’s Evidence-Based Practice
and Steps Needed to Advance the Helping Professions

Presenters will challenge assumptions attendees have about AAC evidence-based practice and performance measurement.  Are we moving together toward achieving more successful outcomes for individuals with complex communication needs (CCN)?  Gain a better appreciation of the three components needed for EBP: external evidence, evidence at the personal level, and knowledge and skills of AAC practitioners. Symposium attendees will learn about current research methods, tools and resources to support practice, and policies influenced by POEMS (patient oriented evidence that matters). Discussion groups will brainstorm on policy implementation, research issues, and clinical challenges in order to build knowledge and skills for applying EBP.

Stay to share in the RESNA Conference and enjoy the attractions of Orlando!
