David Chapple is the secretary of the AAC Institute. He has a degree in software engineering, is a remote troubleshooter for an AAC manufacturer, and is a person with a speech communication disability who uses AAC assistive technology.

 

Gretchen Hanser, MS OTR is with the Center for Literacy & Disability Studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. Gretchen is completing her dissertation in the field of education with an emphasis on literacy instruction for children with complex communication needs and physical impairments.

Robin Hurd is the mother of 10 year old twins who use AAC and powered wheelchairs. She is also the author of Parents' Corner.

Rose-Marie Gallagher, M.Ed., has been involved in Special Education for 22 years as a special educator, inclusion teacher, and as the parent of a child with multiple disabilities.

Janet Sturm, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is Associate Professor, Department of Communication Disorders at Central Michigan University (CMU). Dr. Sturm is interested in understanding how best practices of writing instruction can be used with students with developmental disabilities.
