Sixth International Symposium
on AAC Evidence-Based Practice

Evidence-Based Practice:
Literacy, Language and AAC

Poster Session

The annual AAC Institute’s Symposium on Evidence-Based Practice offers an excellent public forum for presenting clinical/educational research, case studies, and systematic reviews of the evidence on this year’s topic of Language, Literacy, and AAC. In its 6th year, this is the Symposium’s first Call for Posters by popular request. The Poster session at the Symposium is intended to encourage participants to address contemporary issues related to the current topic with practical, evidence-based solutions. Any stakeholder may submit a poster proposal that reflects applying external (research-based) evidence, internal (clinical-based) evidence and/or personal evidence related to language, literacy and AAC.

The deadline for Poster proposals is April 1, 2008. Submission of a poster proposal indicates your intention to attend the symposium. By submitting a poster to the symposium, the authors commit that, if the paper is accepted, at least the first author will attend the symposium. Notification of acceptance will be sent by April 15, 2008.

Instructions:
1. Download the Call for Posters.

2. Complete the form using Times New Roman 12 pt. font, single spaced with 1” margins on all sides.

3. Save the proposal as a Word .doc or .rtf file using the following format to name the file:
last name 1st author_running abbreviated title_08. For example: Jones_early vocabulary_08.

4. Send the file as an email attachment (Subject = Poster Proposal) to symposium@aacinstitute.org.

5. Proposals will be peer reviewed and authors will be notified after April 15, 2008.

6. Authors participating in the Symposium are requested to register by May 16, 2008 to arrange for guaranteed poster space.

7. Handouts for accepted posters should be received by June 1, 2008 to include in Symposium registration materials.
