Edwin and Esther Prentke AAC Distinguished Lecture
One of the highlights of the annual ASHA Convention AAC program is the Prentke Lecture. The lecture is generally delivered by a person who relies on AAC and covers issues experienced by that individual. Following the lecture is a time of audience interaction during which the lecturer demonstrates fluent and spontaneous use of the AAC system.
The lecturer is chosen by a committee of ASHA members and previous recipients from nominations submitted. This process is administered by the AAC Institute on behalf of the sponsors, Prentke Romich Company and Semantic Compaction Systems. The lecturer receives an honorarium of $1000 and travel expenses up to $1500 ($2500 if a travel companion is required).
